7N Ammonia

Ammonia, a kind of inorganic substance with chemical formula of NH3 and molecular weight of 17.031, is colorless and has a strong irritating odor.

High-purity ammonia is mainly used in the field of new optoelectronic materials and is an important basic material for the preparation of GAN by MOCVD technology. High-purity ammonia is also the basic material for the preparation of nitrogen trifluoride, silicon nitride, and the raw gas for the production of super high-grade nitrogen. In addition, liquid ammonia is widely used in the semiconductor industry, metallurgical industry, and other industries and scientific research that require a protective atmosphere.

Applications

Metal Treating

Ammonia is used in suchmetal treating operations as nitriding, carbo-nitriding,bright annealing, furnace brazing, sintering, etc. It is used in extracting such metals as copper, nickel, and molybdenum from their ores. It is also used to reduce atmosphere in heat treatment of metals and for the fabrication of silicium nitride.

Semiconductors

Ammonia is widely used in the semiconductor industry.

LED

Ammonia is used in the production of blue and white LEDs(Light Emitting Diods).

Chemical

Dissociated ammonia is also used as a convenient sourceof hydrogen for the hydrogenation of fats and oils. High-purity ammonia provides nitric acid through the Ostwald process. Ammonia is also used in the production of hydrogen cyanide.

Energy

The petroleum industry utilizes anhydrous ammonia inneutralizing the acid constituents of crude oil and in pro-tecting equipment such as bubble plate towers, heat ex-jw changers, condensers, and storage tanks from corrosion.

Manufacturing

As a processing agent, ammonia is used in the manufac-turing of alkalis, ammonium salts, dyes, pharmaceuticals, cuprammonium rayon, and nylon.

Rubber Industry

Ammonia is used in the rubber industry for stabilization ofraw latex to prevent coagulation during transportationand storage.

Environment

Ammonia can be used to neutralize nitric oxides emittedby diesel engines by selective catalytic reduction.
